"Praying Monk" is a striking piece. The colors and texture of this red cedar wood are amazing. The wood came from Cape Cod, MA. When I harvested it, it was covered with deadwood, dirt, and moss. I cleaned and sanded away the old gray wood to uncover this outstanding red-colored heartwood. The sculpture is an intricate display of movement, color, and texture. My job was to uncover the beauty within, and it is indeed a beauty.
This sculpture has an oak base with a natural edge which enables the piece to be shown in every direction, giving you the option of changing its appearance anytime you'd like. Measures 13" tall, 8" wide and 9" deep.
